The Texas Rangers look prepared to have a big offseason.
After signing Jon Gray, Marcus Semien, and Corey Seager to large deals last offseason, Texas fell flat and lost 94 games during the regular season, missing the postseason.
But that does not mean that the Rangers are done trying to add to their team.
In fact, it appears that the Rangers are in on some top starting pitchers.
Jon Morosi appeared on MLB Network’s Hot Stove Morning Show today to provide an update on the Rangers’ offseason plans.
“I hear that if you are a big-name pitcher, the Rangers are talking with you,” said Morosi.
“That includes Jacob deGrom, Carlos Rodon, and Kodai Senga.”

Rangers Looking At Top Starters
This is big news in terms of free agency.
The Rangers look to be well positioned to try and acquire an ace this offseason.
They already have acquired right-hander Jake Odorizzi in a trade with the Atlanta Braves.
At the very least, they now have an experienced starter in their rotation.
But somebody like deGrom or Rodon would be ideal if they want to become a World Series contender.
Texas has not reached the postseason since 2016, but adding an ace such as deGrom or Rodon, or even Justin Verlander, would get them closer to where they were eight years ago.
The Rangers look ready to spend big this offseason and put the rest of Major League Baseball on notice.
If they acquire an ace, then they could potentially challenge the World Series champion Houston Astros for AL West supremacy.
