After winning the Super Bowl at the conclusion of the 2021 season, the Los Angeles Rams went into the 2022 campaign looking to make some more magic happen.
But they instead suffered through multiple key injuries and poor overall play, which resulted in a 5-12 record and made them the rare defending championship team that didn’t even make the playoffs.
The Rams have lost star cornerback Jalen Ramsey and linebacker Bobby Wagner this offseason, and therefore they will need to have a different set of expectations for next season.
On Monday, they decided to sign defensive lineman Taron Vincent, a product of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Rams are signing former Ohio State free-agent defensive lineman Taron Vincent, the son of NFL executive Troy Vincent.

Vincent is the son of Troy Vincent, an executive in the NFL’s league office who had a productive 15-year career as a defensive back who mostly played at the corner spot.
The elder Vincent spent much of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles, and he made five straight Pro Bowls as well as one All-Pro first team.
The younger Vincent played four solid seasons for the Buckeyes, yet he went unselected in last month’s NFL draft.
With Wagner going back to the Seattle Seahawks, the Rams will need help on their front seven in order to become a competitive team again.
In 2022, they were 21st in both points allowed and passing yards given up.
But perhaps the biggest thing L.A. needs is simply good health after quarterback Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson, and defensive tackle Aaron Donald all missed a considerable amount of time due to injury.
