During Game 2 of the NLDS at Dodger Stadium, a goose made its way onto the field and captured everybody’s attention.
The goose was subsequently removed from the field of play, but it seemed to have fueled the San Diego Padres, who won Game 2 by a final of 5-3.
The Padres won the next two games to eliminate the Los Angeles Dodgers and advance to the NLCS for the first time since 1998.
The goose has become a symbol for the Padres and their fans to rally behind, and it seems to have carried them to this point.
A video from Padres insider Allison Edmonds shows the Padres playing a special video commemorating the “rally goose.”

Rally Goose Sparks Padres
The rally goose could be exactly what the Padres need in order to make a run to the World Series.
There was once the rally squirrel, who helped provide a spark for the St. Louis Cardinals during their 2011 run.
For the Padres, it might be the rally goose.
This team has yet to lose since the rally goose made its way onto the field.
Now, it’s become something that the Padres and the fans can rally behind as they look to go on a magical postseason run of their own.
The goose has carried them this far, all the way to the NLCS, which is somewhere the team had not been in 24 years.
Who’s to say the Padres can’t ride the rally goose all the way to their first ever World Series title?
It would be the perfect underdog story, made even sweeter by the fact that a goose came onto the field and gave the Padres a little extra boost.
We’ll see how far the goose can take them.
