The Aaron Rodgers era is officially over for the Green Bay Packers.
This was the likely signal for Jordan Love to take over as the starting quarterback, but his contract had not yet been finalized.
According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Packers signed Love to a contract extension, tying him to the team until 2024.

The Packers will begin the 2023 season without one of Rodgers or Brett Favre for the first in several decades.
Love will get an opportunity to start after siting behind Rodgers for three seasons.
While the team did trade up in the draft for Love in 2020, he is still unproven, given his lack of playing time thus far.
Love attempted just 21 passes last season, which resulted in a 66.7 completion percentage, one touchdown, and 195 total yards.
Despite Love’s lack of experience, it is clear that the Packers are ready to move forward with him.
During this year’s draft, the Packers used second-round capital on both a tight end and a wide receiver.
Luke Musgrave and Jayden Reed will join Love in this offense, alongside the likes of Aaron Jones, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs.
This is the youngest that the Packers’ offense has looked in several years, and many have suggested that they will have initial difficulties.
However, the NFC North is now wide open, as no team has established itself as a clear front-runner.
For Love’s first season as the starter, he might just have an opportunity to succeed, while the North continues to grow and develop.
