It’s been a long time coming but the Denver Nuggets are on the verge of making franchise history.
The team has reigned supreme over the rest of the West all season long and now they are nearing the end of a very long, very successful year.
Nuggets insider Adam Mares pointed out that the team, which joined the NBA back in 1976, could do something they’ve never accomplished before on Tuesday night: they could secure the first seed in the Western Conference.
The Denver Nuggets joined the NBA in 1976.
Tonight they can do something that they’ve NEVER done in their 46-year NBA history: earn the 1-seed in the Western Conference.

The chances of the Nuggets pulling this off are pretty high because their Tuesday night opponent is the Houston Rockets, who hold one of the worst records in the league.
Right now, the Nuggets have a 52-26 record and sit three games ahead of their second-place competitors, the Memphis Grizzlies.
Following Tuesday’s game, they will have three more against the Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, and Sacramento Kings.
For the last few weeks, they have had their sights set on the postseason and all the challenges it’ll bring.
Being the top seed comes with a lot of glory but it also brings tough competition too.
They will now have a huge target on their backs.
Denver has been to the playoffs for the last four seasons and hasn’t found the sort of success they wanted.
While the Nuggets have been wonderful throughout the regular season, the playoffs are a whole different ballgame.
Even powerhouse teams have fallen under the pressure of the postseason in the past.
The Nuggets have been wanting to get to this point for many years and have been slowly but surely getting better, powered by the unquestionable skills of two-time MVP Nikola Jokic.
Now it is time to see if all of that will pay off or come up short.
