Believe it or not, Nikola Jokic has turned the Denver Nuggets into a legit contender.
Some analysts continue to sleep on them, stating that they’ve just been good in the regular season.
However, Jokic did lead them to the Western Conference Finals almost on his own, and he’s also carried them in the playoffs with a subpar or injured supporting cast.
Now, the two-time MVP has once again been the key factor behind their success, and it seems like they’ve found a flawless recipe to get wins.
According to NBA on ESPN, the Nuggets are 22-0 this season when Jokic gets a triple-double, and that’s the best news they could possibly get.

Why?
Well, because the Serbian giant is now officially averaging a triple-double for the season, logging 24.7 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game on a whopping 63.2% from the floor.
The Nuggets continue to run away with the best record in the Western Conference, and it doesn’t seem like any other team could catch up with them at this point.
Their homecourt advantage is particularly special, given how tough it is to win in Colorado’s thin air, and the team is finally healthy after years of struggling with injuries.
So, of course, it’ll always be difficult to trust small-market teams to get the job done in the postseason, but there’s no reason to believe Mike Malone’s team isn’t good enough to beat anybody in a seven-game series.
Jokic is already a Hall of Fame candidate with those two — and soon to be three — MVPs, but bringing a championship to Denver would most definitely put him in the conversation of one of the best big men in NBA history.
