There is no denying that the NBA is incredibly popular.
It has been for years, of course, but the league has become bigger and bigger over the last decade.
With the star-power of players such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, and others, the league has found more fans in every corner of the globe.
The @NBA Twitter account surpassed 40 million followers today, making it one of the top 10 most-followed brands on the platform.

Because of this, it has one heck of a Twitter following.
The official NBA Twitter account just surpassed 40 million followers, a milestone that few brands and companies are capable of achieving.
This now makes the NBA one of the top ten most-followed brands on the social media site.
As popular as the NBA is right now on Twitter, there is no doubt that it’ll only get more popular in the months and years ahead.
The New NBA
Players like the ones listed above are the current leaders of the league but there is an incoming class of newcomers who are going to bring even more attention to professional basketball.
People look at young guys like Paolo Banchero, Jaden Ivey, Cade Cunningham, Scottie Barnes, Josh Giddey, and others as prime examples of the future of the league.
These athletes are generating a lot of interest and a larger and larger following online.
In the year ahead, the league will see its biggest draft prospect since James in the 2000s: Victor Wembanyama of France, who is poised to be the number one draft pick next year.
There are numerous people already praising Wembanyama and talking of him as perhaps the best rookie the league has ever experienced.
You can bet that plenty more people will start following the NBA and its official Twitter account as Wembanyama enters the picture.
