The New York Mets are looking to make changes to their entire organization.
Not only do they need to upgrade their players but they want a new man making the key decisions.
That is why the Mets went out and hired the first president of baseball operations in team history.
According to Anthony DiComo, David Stearns will take over that position.
This position will rank higher than the general manager.
David Stearns will become the first president of baseball operations in Mets history. The team has never before employed someone with that title, which ranks above the position of general manager.

The Mets needed to make something happen with their organization.
While some people may not know Stearns, this is a big move.
He is 38 years old and was hired as Brewers GM in September of 2015.
Stearns switched to an advisory role after the 2022 season and the Mets have been interested ever since.
He will officially take over in New York once the regular season concludes.
Even though Stearns never won a World Series in Milwaukee he did help get them multiple NL Central crowns.
He gets credit for bringing former NL MVP Christian Yelich to Milwaukee, along with drafting former NL Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes.
Stearns also had success working with a smaller payroll in Milwaukee than he will have in New York.
Being able to pay more money to acquire the best players should be something that Stearns is excited about.
It will be interesting to see how he handles his first season in New York.
But, the Mets fanbase is impatient and they want to see positive results from Stearns as early as next year.
