Ever since he broke into the big leagues, Pete Alonso has been a cornerstone of the New York Mets‘ franchise.
In his rookie season of 2019, he broke the all-time rookie home run record that had been set by Aaron Judge two years prior.
He’s also won the Home Run Derby twice and is a strong candidate for the NL MVP this year.
This week, he and Albert Pujols split NL Player of the Week honors.
Pujols of course hit home run No. 700, but Alonso certainly had a good week as well.
Alonso blasted four home runs and drove in 13 runs.
Following the announcement of his accomplishment, the Mets made a nice little hype video for their slugger.
Breaking records. Winning awards.

Polar Bears Earns POTW, Hype Video
When you watch the video, you simply get chills,
It’s only natural.
Alonso is certainly an electric player with a ton of upside and a bright future ahead of him.
He’s already off to a pretty good start.
Mets fans have to love seeing both his power surge and this hype video.
It simply gets you hyped for the postseason if you’re a Mets fan, because you know that you’ll have this guy leading the way and blasting tape-measure home runs.
Alonso is a player that is fun to watch and somebody who brings a ton of excitement and energy to the game of baseball.
He slugs, he celebrates hard-core, and his team is a strong contender for a World Series title.
But there can’t be anything bad about watching a compilation video of some of Alonso’s biggest moments from this past week.
We’ll see if he can carry that into this week and ultimately put himself in position for the NL MVP Award.
