The New York Mets were quite busy over the winter and were quick to address the holes in their starting rotation after the departure of Jacob deGrom.
They added Justin Verlander, Kodai Senga, and Jose Quintana to bolster the starting staff and also managed to keep leadoff hitter Brandon Nimmo around.
However, the team is struggling right now, and they currently sit two games below the .500 mark.
At 20-22, the Mets find themselves in fourth place in the National League East, 6.5 games back of the division-leading Atlanta Braves.
On Twitter, SNY, the TV home of the Mets, posted a graphic featuring the current standings in the NL East after New York was defeated by the Washington Nationals on Monday.

Things aren’t about to get any easier for the Mets, as they’ll open up a home series against the Tampa Bay Rays, who have been red-hot since Opening Day and own the best record in all of baseball.
The Mets won 101 games last season and reached the postseason for the first time since 2016.
As the top Wild Card team, they fell short against the San Diego Padres in the first round.
But after a busy offseason, the Mets were expected to have another strong season in 2023.
That has not been the case thus far, as the Mets remain under the .500 mark and well behind the Braves in the NL East.
New York is much closer in the Wild Card race than they are to the Braves, sitting just a half-game behind the Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins, who are tied for the final spot.
