The Miami Marlins will turn back the clock this season.
The franchise will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023.
The Florida Marlins, if you can recall, were part of MLB’s expansion in 1993 together with the Colorado Rockies.
They used to wear a fresh, teal-colored uniform that symbolized the ocean.
Fans quickly became identified with that color.
It hasn’t been used since 2018, but the team announced that it will be back in 2023, in large part because it is a special season.

Not only are the Marlins turning 30, but they are also celebrating the 20th anniversary of their second World Series championship in 2003.
They had Josh Beckett, Juan Pierre, Luis Castillo, Mike Lowell, Jeff Conine, Ivan Rodriguez, and a very young Miguel Cabrera back then.
The organization itself, with a video, announced their plans to celebrate both milestones/achievements.
They will host “Flashback Fridays,” where they will wear the pinstripe teal uniforms, helmets, and caps for at least five Friday home games at loanDepot park.
New for this year will be a museum with various items that cover the whole 30-year history of the franchise.
There will also be a special logo on game balls, and former Marlins players will make appearances on those select dates.
They wore the teal uniforms in 2018 for the last time, to celebrate the 25th season in MLB.
The Marlins may not have a lot of fans, but they do have fond memories of those late-90s, early-2000s days in which they won not one, but two World Series titles.
Things like the teal uniforms and the Flashback Fridays will go a long way into helping them draw more fans to the stadium.
