The Detroit Lions are coming off a season in which the team defied odds and far exceeded expectations coming just short of a playoff appearance.
In 2023, the Lions will no longer be a team that’s overlooked in the NFL, as Detroit will have a real chance of competing for a playoff spot and perhaps a division title, with the NFC North potentially wide open following the departure of superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
With a lot of optimism in Detroit heading toward the start of the 2023 NFL season, a familiar face showed up at OTA’s this week, another sign that this struggling franchise might be heading in the right direction.
Former superstar wide receiver Calvin Johnson has had a long-standing feud with the Lions due to the way he was treated at the end of his career, but it appears the relationship between him and the team might have been mended as he was all smiles greeting head coach Dan Campbell via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.
Seems like the #Lions have rebuilt their relationship with Calvin Johnson. He was at OTA's today as a guest.
Really great to see.

During his time with the Lions, few wide receivers in the NFL were even close to being in his league, as he was nearly unstoppable downfield when paired with quarterback Matthew Stafford in Detroit.
With the bad blood potentially subsiding in Detroit, Lions receivers might be able to learn a thing or two from the four-time All-Pro if he’s willing to share some knowledge with the team.
Although it’s all smiles right now, the Lions have a lot of work to do to prove that last season was no fluke and that this team is ready to break out in 2023.
