There is no doubt that the Los Angeles Lakers had a very bad season.
They didn’t even make the playoffs, despite having the firepower of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, and more.
That’s still a mind-boggling fact.
But although the season ended in sadness, there were some bright moments throughout the year.

One of them featured Lakers newcomer Austin Reaves, who had one of the best buzzer-beaters of the year against the Dallas Mavericks.
It all went down in overtime when both teams were tied at 104 with just 8 seconds left.
The Lakers had possession of the ball and passed it around the perimeter.
Westbrook made his way to the hoop with the ball but performed a smooth pass to Reaves, who sat just outside the three-point line.
He put up the shot, fell backward, landed on his back, and then watched as the ball sailed through the basket.
With that shot, the Lakers were up by three points with .9 seconds left.
LA ended up winning the game, thanks to Reaves’ incredible shot.
Raving About Reaves
Fans of the Lakers were falling in love with Reaves all season long.
The rookie star wasn’t the showiest player in the league but he repeatedly showed why he is something special.
He’s fast, he’s accurate with his shots, and he can play defense too.
He never had a moment that surpassed the clutch shot against the Mavs but he quickly became a great bench player and gave LA fans hope about the future of the team.
Reaves is currently set to return to the Lakers in the new season and that means he has a chance to become even more important to the team.
