People were understandably disappointed with the Los Angeles Lakers at the start of this season.
The team wasn’t just bad, it was downright awful and LA claimed a dreadful 0-5 record.
That has changed over the last two games, as the Lakers have put away both the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans to claim a still-poor 2-5 record.
They are showing some positive signs and they have a chance to get even better on Friday when they take on the surging Utah Jazz.
The Lakers will have a better record than the Warriors if they win tomorrow. That's wild.

Here is something not many people expected: the Lakers will have a better record than the Warriors if they win on Friday.
Farbod Esnaashari put it better than anyone else could: “That’s wild.”
It is true – no one thought this would even be possible just days ago.
Rising & Falling In The NBA
The last few days have been quite good for the Lakers, while they have been quite bad for the Warriors at the same time.
The Lakers have won two in a row while the Warriors have fallen for four consecutive days.
As mentioned, LA is at 2-5 while the Warriors are struggling at 3-6.
Still, conventional wisdom would suggest that the Warriors have a better chance of getting on the right path and making the playoffs.
This Lakers squad is still untested and has many moving pieces that need to come together and remain strong.
Meanwhile, the Warriors are the reigning champions of the NBA and their abilities are well known.
However, perhaps the Lakers are going to impress and do far better than expected.
This NBA season has been crazy so far and the idea of the Lakers being better than the Warriors might be the craziest concept yet.
