The NBA world was abuzz on Monday when it was reported that Kyrie Irving was trying to get his Dallas Mavericks to sign LeBron James away from the Los Angeles Lakers.
Most people assumed this was just a pipe dream that would never come to fruition.
Lakers insider Jovan Buha did some digging and found that James moving to Dallas is very unlikely.
He also found that Irving to the Lakers doesn’t seem in the cards right now either.
According to Buha, the Lakers “aren’t interested” in adding Irving this summer.
The Lakers maintained on Monday that they aren’t interested in adding Kyrie Irving this summer, according to multiple team sources.

It is important to remember that just a few months ago, the idea of Irving to the Lakers didn’t seem far-fetched at all.
In fact, it almost felt inevitable.
James allegedly wanted Irving alongside him in LA and Irving apparently desired the same.
But the Brooklyn Nets weren’t looking to make Irving’s dreams come true and they instead sent him to the Mavericks.
Many people thought the Lakers would come back to a possible Irving acquisition this summer since he will be a free agent.
What’s changed?
The biggest change is that the Lakers made some strategic moves at the trade deadline and acquired multiple young talented stars.
After that, the roster felt stronger than it had in years.
This helped the Lakers come together in the second half of the season and reach the Western Conference Finals.
The need for Irving doesn’t feel as strong at this point.
A lot can change in the next few months and James has a ton of influence on the direction of the team.
That means Irving might still be wearing purple and gold next season.
But, right now, that doesn’t seem likely.
