The New York Yankees ultimately found themselves at a bit of an impasse with struggling outfielder Joey Gallo after they had acquired Andrew Benintendi from the Kansas City Royals.
At the trade deadline on August 2, the Yankees ultimately shipped Gallo off to the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he’s seemingly rediscovered his stroke.
This is good news for the Dodgers, and it clearly has helped them out quite a bit.
The Dodgers are 17-4 since acquiring the slugger.
On the flip side, the Yankees have been slumping ever since they shipped Gallo out of town.
The team is now 6-14 after having traded away Gallo.

Yanks Scuffling Without Gallo
Who would have thought that the Gallo trade would be hurting the Yankees?
They no longer had a spot for him on their roster.
The Dodgers had an opening and now Gallo has seemingly found himself again.
The Yankees have not been the same since then.
Of course, there are other factors to take into account, such as injuries and the Jordan Montgomery trade.
But it’s interesting to see how Gallo has improved ever since leaving New York, while his old squad has fallen on hard times and have only won one series since the trade was made.
The trade simply continues to haunt the Yankees, who have been slumping for the entire month of August.
The Dodgers on the other hand, have been red-hot and have taken New York’s spot and now have the best record in all of baseball.
Clearly, the trade benefitted the Dodgers, as well as Gallo.
For the Yankees, you can’t exactly say the same.
The deal has made no difference for them.
They’ve been on a slide ever since making the deal and the Dodgers have gone the opposite direction.
