No team in the NFL has gotten more attention for offseason moves than the New York Jets.
The storied NFL franchise has pulled out all the stops to create a potential Super Bowl title contender in 2023, with superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers now in the fold in the Big Apple.
Although adding Rodgers is a significant boost for the Jets, the team may still need to make some moves to ensure that the 2023 campaign will be a successful one for Robert Saleh and company.
As the NFL offseason presses on, one area of concern for the Jets is the contract negotiations with one of their best defensive players.
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini via Dov Kleiman, All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and the team aren’t close on a new contract.

“The two sides aren't close to an agreement even though the second-contract market for top defensive tackles is clearly formed.”

Even though the Tennessee Titans set the market for a defensive tackle by signing Jeffery Simmons to a four-year deal worth nearly $100 million, Williams doesn’t like what the team is offering, which could make it difficult for the two sides to come to an agreement.
Williams is crucial to the team’s success on defense, and the Jets will want him happy and wealthy before the start of the 2023 campaign, especially with everything at stake next season in terms of expectations for this team.
Only time will tell if these two sides can see eye-to-eye on a new deal preventing any distraction heading into training camp.
The Jets are considered a team that will make some noise next season, with Rodgers leading the offense and Williams and Sauce Gardner leading the defense.
