The Miami Heat have been in the market for another star for quite a while now, but to no avail.
They don’t have that many valuable assets to one-up teams who could seriously pursue one of their targets.
Even so, they’ve been just one piece away from winning the NBA Finals, and they’re reportedly going to stay aggressive in the trade market despite the league’s lack of interest in their assets.
With that in mind, Eric Koreen of The Athletic reports that Pat Riley will look to make a run at Pascal Siakam (via NBA Central).
“I’m sure Miami will kick the tires, even if it’s not the cleanest fit.”

Siakam has refused to sign a contract extension with the Toronto Raptors, and a trade out of Canada seems imminent at this point.
Bam Adebayo has struggled with injuries, but pairing him with Siakam could be as good on defense as questionable on offense.
Siakam is capable of knocking down a couple of threes every now and then, but he’s not a spread four by any means.
Add Jimmy Butler next to them, and it seems like the restricted area could be very crowded on offense for Erik Spoelstra’s team, and old-school teams don’t usually fare well in today’s pace-and-space game.
Also, Masai Ujiri has never been an easy person to do business with, and it’s hard to see him being interested in anything the Heat could have to offer for Siakam, who’s likely to fetch plenty of interest around the league.
