One of the main reasons that many people doubted the Miami Heat‘s chances of winning it all during these NBA playoffs was due to an injury suffered in the first round of the postseason against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Tyler Herro suffered a broken hand against the Bucks, which seemed to be the nail in the coffin for Miami, as they were already a massive underdog against the top-seeded Milwaukee squad.
Fortunately for Miami, Herro being out for the rest of the playoffs potentially didn’t impact the team as many had anticipated, as the Heat didn’t miss a beat and beat the Bucks in five games, which sent shockwaves throughout the league.
With the Heat continuing to defy the odds all the way up to the NBA Finals, Herro has been given a chance to return, but it appears that return will not happen in Game 3 of the series in Miami, according to 5 Reasons Sports via NBA Central.

Clearly, it doesn’t matter whether or not Herro plays in this series, as the Heat have had a ton of success without him pulling off two major series upsets in the postseason by getting the best of the Bucks and the Boston Celtics.
However, Herro returning to the floor for Miami can only help the team’s chances of competing, even if he’s playing a limited role off the bench.
It’ll be interesting to see if Herro does ultimately return at some point during this series and what impact that may have for the Heat against the Denver Nuggets.
