The Memphis Grizzlies have already made a huge splash in the trade market.
They got the offseason started by giving up a couple of first-round picks and Tyus Jones to get their hands on Marcus Smart.
But that’s not the only piece they’re going after right now.
According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports (via NBACentral), the Grizzlies have reached out about Orlando Magic star Franz Wagner.

Then again, it doesn’t feel like the Magic are even interested in moving on from a guy that’s a couple of years removed from being the No. 8 pick.
Of course, there’s a bit of a logjam at the forward spot with Paolo Banchero also there, but the Magic are building their roster by living up to the “best player available” mindset, and Wagner has been a seamless fit on that position-less jumbo lineup of theirs.
Wagner is one of the most promising shooters in the league, and he’s got the length to play at the three and the four, and he could create a deadly tandem with Banchero.
The Grizzlies have been stellar in the regular season, but they’ve fallen short in the playoffs way too many times already.
With that in mind, perhaps they’d be better off pursuing veterans with proven postseason experience — such as Smart — as opposed to going after young players.
Still, we’ll have to keep an eye on Memphis, as they still have plenty of draft capital and cap space to continue making big moves in the next couple of weeks.
