The Pittsburgh Steelers may have unearthed another star in wide receiver George Pickens.
He has been dominating training camp and preseason for the six-time Super Bowl champions after being selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
It’s a complete turnaround from his junior season in Georgia wherein he missed all but four games due to an ACL injury.
But he did prove that he performs during the big moments with a 52-yard reception during the National Championship Game against Alabama.
Now, he is also getting praise from teammates like fellow wideout Diontae Johnson.

Johnson said, “He’s a freak, that’s what he is. That’s a special talent, you know. Can’t teach some of the things he do. I’ll just be watching him and be like, man I am amazed.”
He does have the physical attributes for dominating because he is 6-foot-3 and weighs 200 pounds.
Therefore, he can easily lord over defensive backs and find his way through the holes of the defense.
If he continues to do this during the regular season, the rest of the league is doomed.
It would be difficult to stop a receiving trio with him, Johnson, and Chase Claypool.
Pickens’ Amazing Play Against Seattle
The Steelers faced the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1 of the 2022 NFL preseason and Pickens made the highlight reel.
He beat the coverage of cornerback Coby Bryant to make a touchdown grab at the corner of the end zone.
Pickens ended the game as the Steelers’ second-best receiver with three catches out of five targets for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Performances like this will only grow his confidence as he gears up for his rookie NFL season.
