The Philadelphia Eagles have the best record in the NFL at 13-2, and as a result, some are picking them to win the Super Bowl.
But that doesn’t mean they’re done finalizing their roster.
On Tuesday, they worked out Blake Jarwin, a tight end who has spent his entire career with, of all teams, the Dallas Cowboys, who are the Eagles’ main competitor in the NFC East.
An interesting tryout for the Eagles today: former Cowboys TE Blake Jarwin. Injuries limited Jarwin to just 9 games the last two seasons, but he was a productive player with Dallas in 2018-2019.

Philly has Dallas Goedert at TE1, and he is having a fine season with 611 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games.
He recently missed some time with a shoulder injury, but he returned on Christmas Eve and put up 67 yards on just three catches in a loss to the Cowboys.
The Eagles’ other tight ends haven’t gotten the job done, so some added depth at that position would be helpful.
Jarwin Could Be A Capable TE2 For Philly
Jarwin is an interesting story, as he was used mostly as a blocker at Oklahoma State University, and due to his meager offensive numbers, he went untaken in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Dallas picked him up, first as a practice squad player, and then as an active squad member, mostly so that the Eagles couldn’t sign him.
He barely played as a rookie, but the following year he registered 307 yards and three touchdowns, then contributed 365 yards and three scores in 2019.
But Jarwin injured his ACL in Week 1 of the 2020 campaign and missed the rest of the schedule, and he played in just eight contests last year because of a hip injury.
That hip injury forced him to undergo surgery in March, and the Cowboys released him on an injury settlement.
It looks like perhaps their attempt to prevent the Eagles from signing him back in 2017 will end up ultimately being in vain.
