We’re in the stretch run of the 2022 MLB season.
We now have a pretty good idea of who the true contenders are in each league and who the long-shots are.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the true contenders.
With an insane 85-37 record, the Dodgers currently are the best team in all of baseball.
They’ve put enough distance between themselves and the San Diego Padres to make it clear that the NL West belongs to them.
In fact, we’re not even to September yet, and the Dodgers are already getting somewhat close to clinching the NL West.
Bob Nightengale tweeted that the Dodgers’ magic number right now to clinch the division sits at 21.
The #Dodgers’ magic number: 21.

Dodger Dominance
Many expected Los Angeles to be dominant this season and they have been just that.
They haven’t even lost 40 games yet.
Meanwhile, just five more wins and they’ll have 90 on the season.
The NL West is theirs for the taking.
It’s crazy to see that the countdown for their magic number has already begun and we haven’t even reached the month of September.
But that’s just how good the Dodgers have been all year and how they’ve taken advantage of their opponents’ weaknesses.
With an 18.5-game lead over the San Diego Padres, it’s clear that this division is theirs for the taking and that none of their division rivals are a threat to them.
The main threats come from outside of the division.
That’s where the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves come in.
But for now, Los Angeles is the cream of the crop in all of baseball and if your team plans on going to the World Series, they’re going to have to go through the Dodgers.
