The race for the National League West division crown may soon be over, and it could be over as soon as this weekend.
The red-hot Los Angeles Dodgers head into San Diego to take on their rivals, the San Diego Padres.
The 94-win Dodgers have the best record in all of baseball and lead the Padres by a whopping 19 games.
Their magic number to clinch their ninth NL West title in the last 10 years is down to six.
All the Dodgers need to do is sweep the series and they will clinch the division on Sunday afternoon at Petco Park.

Dodgers Could Clinch Sunday
It’s been a long season, but it’s clear at this point who the best team in the NL West is.
Last year, it came down to the final day, with the Dodgers being edged out by the San Francisco Giants by just one game.
The Padres have been a worthy opponent, but at this point, the Dodgers have already run away with the division.
Just three wins this weekend will earn them another division crown.
It would be crazy if the Dodgers can wrap it up this weekend.
More often than not, division races don’t end this early, but there’s a very strong chance that the Dodgers could have this thing wrapped up in the next few days.
It ultimately goes to show just how dominant the Dodgers have been, not just this year, but over the past decade.
Nobody has been able to hold a candle to them in the NL West.
They’ve been arguably the best team in all of baseball over the past 10 years.
Now, they have a chance to close out the Padres and take home another division title.
