The Kansas City Chiefs unleashed a 44-21 masterpiece against the Arizona Cardinals in their season opener.
They can get their second victory in as many games if they defeat the division rival Los Angeles Chargers in their Thursday Night Football showdown.
Aside from keeping an undefeated record, the Chiefs would like to get some payback from their home loss to the Chargers last season.
The Chargers also swept them last year after winning their game at So-Fi Stadium.
However, Kansas City’s home opener for 2022 isn’t just an ordinary game.
Instead, it will be an opportunity to celebrate Arrowhead Stadium’s golden year.

Front Office Sports tweeted, “The Kansas City Chiefs have painted their field with its original design ahead of Thursday night’s game — a tribute to Arrowhead Stadium’s 50th anniversary.”
Aside from reviving the old look, having the original design is like channeling the Chiefs’ legends from the previous decades.
They will need all the help they can get because the Chargers are no easy opponent.
While Keenan Allen will not play in Week 2, Los Angeles still has weapons like Austin Ekeler, Mike Williams, Gerald Everett, and DeAndre Carter.
Likewise, Justin Herbert is coming off a 279-yard, three-touchdown performance.
They also have a solid defensive unit with Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, Kyle Van Noy, and Derwin James.
A Brief History Of Arrowhead Stadium
Arrowhead broke ground on July 11, 1968, and was opened on August 12, 1972.
The original construction cost was $43 million or $279 million in 2021 dollars.
It has undergone renovations five times and expansion two times.
Before Arrowhead opened, the Chiefs played at the Cotton Bowl when they were still known as the Dallas Texans.
They also played at Kansas City Municipal Stadium from 1963 to 1971.
