As of now, the Boston Celtics still haven’t offered Jaylen Brown a supermax contract extension to keep him with the team.
This has led some fans to worry that perhaps they are contemplating getting rid of the two-time All-Star.
But NBA analyst Jeff Goodman claims there is nothing to worry about and that everything is going according to plan.
“It’s just a matter of time,” Goodman said of the contract negotiations on NBC Sports Boston.
He added, “I talked to somebody in the organization and they said there’s really nothing to worry about right now.”

All season long, the assumption has been that the Celtics would retain Brown in the summer.
He was one of the most important parts of the team, averaging 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists during 2022-23.
Of course, there was always the chance that Boston decided to move Brown away in favor of someone bigger in the league.
Speculation about that became even louder when it was announced that Damian Lillard wanted out of the Portland Trail Blazers.
Numerous people feared – and some hoped – that Boston and Brown’s negotiations would fall apart as they tried to exchange him for Lillard.
But according to those in the know, things are still progressing well and a deal will come together and be announced soon.
Last summer, there were rumors that the Celtics were thinking about trading Brown away for Kevin Durant, who was then with the Brooklyn Nets.
Ever since then, Brown hasn’t felt as untouchable.
But he is apparently on the verge of a huge new deal with the Celtics, which should keep him there for quite a few more years.
