It’s not often that fans of the Boston Celtics see the team looking off their game.
However, the Celtics have lost two games in a row, one to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday and the other to the New York Knicks on Sunday.
This means that all eyes are on Monday night’s game when the Celtics will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Unfortunately, NBA reporter Brett Siegel has revealed that Boston’s injury report states both Jayson Tatum and Al Horford will be out of that game.
Celtics injury report for tonight's game against the Cavaliers:
Al Horford (low back stiffness) – OUT
Jayson Tatum (left knee contusion) – OUT— Brett Siegel (@BrettSiegelNBA) March 6, 2023
Tatum will miss it due to a left knee contusion while Horford will be out because of lower back stiffness.
This comes on top of the absence of big man Robert Williams, who has been on and off all season long.
The Cavaliers are not an easy team to beat under the best of circumstances.
They are the fourth-best squad in the conference and have a 40-26 record.
It’s obvious that they won’t go easy on the Celtics, who sit right behind the Milwaukee Bucks toward the top of the standings.
Now that both Tatum and Horford are out, the pressure will be even more intense on other players like Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart.
The loss of both Horford and Williams will really hurt the Celtics because their frontcourt will be severely limited.
But the absence of Tatum could be even worse, especially if the left knee problems are long-term.
He is the star player of the team and they want him as much as possible.
Now everyone is wondering how quickly he bounces back from this injury.
