Everyone knows there is a lot of money in owning an NBA team and Marc Lasry of the Milwaukee Bucks is now very aware of that.
Lasry purchased the Bucks back in 2014, along with hedge fund financier Wes Edens, for $550 million.
Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry has an agreement to sell his stake in the Bucks to American businessman and Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and Haslam Sports Group for a $3.5 billion valuation, sources tell me and @eric_nehm.

But now Lasry has agreed to sell his stake in the team to Cleveland Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam with a cool $3.5 billion valuation.
That is the second-highest valuation ever for an NBA team and shows just how much the Bucks have exploded in terms of popularity and success over the last few years.
The $3.5 billion number has only been surpassed by one other recent NBA buy: when Mat Ishbia bought the Phoenix Suns from Robert Sarver for $4 billion.
The deal between Lasry and the Haslams still needs to be approved by the league but there is no indication that it’ll be denied.
A lot has changed for the Bucks since 2014 that has really helped the team’s value.
Obviously, the Bucks won the Finals in 2021, which was only the second time the team had done so and the first in 50 years
But the signing of Giannis Antetokounmpo is probably the team’s biggest achievement because the Finals victory wasn’t even remotely possible without him.
Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP and one of the most beloved and well-known basketball players alive.
He has turned the Bucks from a somewhat obscure NBA team into one of the most-watched and talked-about franchises in the league.
Every win they had and trophy Antetokounmpo earned has added value, attention, and praise to the team.
And now the Bucks are one of the most valuable teams in the history of the league.
