The Cleveland Browns made it to the playoffs in 2020, breaking a drought that stretched from 2002.
They also won a road postseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, their run ended with a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round.
But despite making it to the postseason that year, they did not win their division after finishing third at 11-5.
The Steelers had the best record at 12-4, while the Baltimore Ravens won a tiebreaker at 11-5.
Therefore, it’s been a while since the Browns won the AFC North, and it’s high time that they achieve that feat.

Sunday Night Football on NBC tweeted, “Who wins the AFC North in 2022?!”
For the record, the Browns haven’t won an AFC North title.
Their last division championship came in 1989 when they were still part of the AFC Central.
That year, they lost to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game, the third time it happened in four seasons.
Since 2002, the Steelers lead the way with nine AFC North titles.
The Baltimore Ravens have six while the defending division champion Cincinnati Bengals have five.
An Uphill Battle For The Browns
While the Browns would like to win the division, it’s easier said than done.
The Steelers have a tenacious defense with players like Cameron Heyward, Alex Highsmith, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and reigning Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt.
Meanwhile, the Bengals have a loaded offense with Joe Burrow, Joe Mixon, Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, and last season’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Ja’Marr Chase.
Finally, the Ravens will have versatile quarterback Lamar Jackson returning after suffering a season-ending ankle injury.
The Browns will open the 2022 season against Baker Mayfield and the Carolina Panthers.
