The Denver Broncos had an extremely disappointing 2022 season, but they have optimism that 2023 will be different.
They have hired head coach Sean Payton, and they’re hoping for better health after key playmakers such as wide receiver Tim Patrick and running back Javonte Williams suffered key injuries last year.
The Broncos brought back a previous member of their roster on Monday when they signed veteran safety Kareem Jackson to a one-year contract.
Veteran safety Kareem Jackson, the Texans’ 2010 first-round pick, is returning to the Broncos on a one-year deal, per source.

Jackson was originally the No. 20 pick by the Houston Texans in the 2010 NFL Draft after three strong seasons of college ball at the University of Alabama.
Although he has never made the Pro Bowl, he has long been a solid defensive back, recording at least 10 passes defended 10 times.
Jackson has been a member of the Broncos since 2019, and while he may not be the player he used to be, he should still provide veteran leadership for them.
On the defensive side of the football, Denver was solid in 2022, ranking fifth in passing touchdowns allowed and 12th in passing yards allowed.
Indeed, offense was their big, glaring problem.
They finished last in points scored and failed to reach 20 points 11 times in 2022, and many couldn’t remember seeing a team that was as inept as them on offense in many years.
The big culprit there was Russell Wilson, who was acquired in an offseason trade with the Seattle Seahawks and failed to play at the level he was accustomed to performing at with his previous squad.
A bounce-back year from Wilson is integral to the Broncos’ chances next season.
