The Atlanta Braves won again; 10-4 against the Washington Nationals, and extended their streak to 13 consecutive victories.
They started off their season with some sloppy baseball, but right now, they are playing like one would expect the reigning World Series champions would play.
Yesterday, they hit five home runs against the lowly Nats to add to their recent tally.
“The Braves have hit 32 HR during their 13-game win streak, the 3rd-most HR in any win streak of any length in MLB history, trailing only: – Cleveland: 41 HR during 22-game streak in 2017 – St. Louis: 34 HR during 17-game streak in 2021,” ESPN Stats & Info tweeted on Wednesday.

Braves’ Bats Are Mashing
Everyone in the Braves lineup seems to be producing.
Ronald Acuna Jr. is now healthy and mashing; Austin Riley leads the team with an impressive 16 home runs, and Dansby Swanson is pacing the Braves in Wins Above Replacement (WAR) with 2.7: he has nine round-trippers.
Travis d’Arnaud, William Contreras, Matt Olson, and Michael Harris II are all raking.
The Braves will have to solve Ozzie Albies‘ long-term absence, but for the time being, they are looking like one of the best teams in baseball even without the star second baseman.
Albies has a leg fracture and won’t be available for a while, so Atlanta will need to continue without him.
The pitching has been fantastic during the winning streak, too, and it’s time to say that the race for the NL East is very much alive.
The New York Mets still hold a five-game advantage over the Braves, but they have injury questions of their own that have caused the Braves to move up some in the standings.
