The Portland Trail Blazers are reportedly trying to exhaust all avenues to surround Damian Lillard with the talent he needs to thrive.
They’re going to be quite aggressive in the market in their pursuit of more players, and they have several assets to deal with.
Notably, Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, via NBACentral, reports that they’ve set their sights on Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo, adding that they’re ready to make a “significant offer” for his services.

Adebayo has become a stalwart in South Beach, and he’s one of the best interior defenders in the game, so it seems unlikely that Erik Spoelstra and Pat Riley will be willing to part ways with him, unless they get a massive offer.
The Blazers currently hold the rights to the No. 3 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, and the Heat would be crazy not to entertain that offer, assuming they’re that desperate.
It’s worth noting that Lillard recently stated that he would love to play for the Heat and chose them as their preferred destination if he were to be traded away from Rip City.
He cited his friendship with Adebayo as one of the main reasons behind that decision, so chances are that the Blazers are just trying to keep him happy and around by pairing him with one of his closest friends.
Still, adding Adebayo won’t be enough for them to get over the hump and become a legit championship contender, and the Heat are likely to hold on tightly to him.
