The Atlanta Hawks have been through a bit of a roller-coaster since they drafted Trae Young.
They’ve alternated good and promising seasons with disappointing campaigns, and it doesn’t feel like they have a clear direction in terms of roster-construction.
That became even more evident right after they pretty much gift-wrapped John Collins so the Utah Jazz could absorb his salary, and it seems like he’s not the only player who could be on his way out of town.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN (via Evan Sidery), the Hawks have held trade talks about pretty much every single player not named Trae Young.
The Hawks have many veteran players available in trade discussions, per @wojespn:
“Virtually everybody among their veterans, except for Trae Young, have really been part of {trade talks} for the Hawks.”
Two players who fit this criteria are Clint Capela and De’Andre Hunter.… pic.twitter.com/xQ03Urkc9b

Woj believes Clint Capela and De’Andre Hunter could be the next in line to be traded, adding that they could also discuss contract extensions with Dejounte Murray, Onyeka Okongwu, and Saddiq Bey.
Truth be told, moving on from Hunter could be a mistake, as, despite his injury-proneness, he’s still an elite defender on a reasonable deal.
As for Capela, it would make sense to give up on him now, as Okongwu has showcased untapped potential as a rebounder and rim protector, and he’s younger and cheaper.
The Hawks brought in Quin Snyder to straighten the ship toward the end of the season, and it didn’t take long before he made an impact there.
However, more than the Xs and Os, it seems like that organization needs to develop a winning culture, and that will also require their star players to buy in and put their egos aside for the sake of the team.
