It didn’t always seem like it this season, but the Houston Astros had an elite offense entering play in March and still have it at this moment.
It was a matter of getting everybody healthy and in a groove.
Right now, the Astros are in the middle of a fierce battle for the AL West division and, at worst, a Wild Card spot.
They are 75-58, tied with the Texas Rangers and one game behind the Seattle Mariners.
They need every run they can produce.
Thankfully for them, August has been an extremely productive month.

On Monday, Houston put 13 runs on the scoreboard against the Boston Red Sox in a victory.
As McTaggart indicates, they have had games of 17, 13, 12, 11, and 11 runs since August 6.
When they are all healthy, the foursome of Kyle Tucker, Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, and Yordan Alvarez is just too much for pitchers.
Altuve hit for the cycle on Monday and owns a .944 OPS.
Tucker’s OPS is at .895 and he has 26 home runs, 26 stolen bases, and 97 RBI.
Like Altuve, Alvarez missed a good chunk of the season but he has a cool .954 OPS and 22 home runs, and Bregman has 21 homers, 87 RBI, and 76 walks.

The Astros offense seems to be peaking at the right time, and that’s certainly bad news for the rest of the league.
