The Houston Astros made a big splash in free agency on Monday afternoon when they signed slugger Jose Abreu to a three-year contract.
With Yuli Gurriel departing, the Astros were in need of a first baseman.
Yesterday, they got their man.
Now, their lineup features a deadly combination of six elite sluggers.
Even after winning the World Series, the Astros remain hungry and are clearly motivated to have much more success in the future.
With the addition of the veteran slugger, Houston now has an extra bat in a lineup that already features Jose Altuve, Jeremy Pena, Alex Bregman, Yordan Alvarez, and Kyle Tucker.
The Astros top six in the lineup now looks something like…
1. Jose Altuve 2B
2. Jeremy Pena SS
3. Yordan Alvarez LF
4. Alex Bregman 3B
5. Kyle Tucker RF
6. Jose Abreu 1BYeah no one's stopping this team.

Astros Stacked On Offense
The Astros lineup is unbelievably stacked heading into 2023.
Without question, Houston will be the favorites to reach the World Series in the American League.
In the postseason, the Astros completely dismantled the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees to reach the World Series.
It took them six games to take down the National League champion Philadelphia Phillies.
This was all before they had Abreu on their side of course.
With the 35-year-old in the fold, the Astros may in fact have the best lineup in all of baseball, and it may stay that way, barring the possibility of Aaron Judge signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Astros will now turn their attention to bringing back Justin Verlander.
Even if they do not retain the AL Cy Young, their lineup is loaded for 2023 and will be incredibly difficult for opposing pitchers to contain on a nightly basis.
