Everybody talked about the Los Angeles Dodgers during the regular season, but the Houston Astros were a juggernaut too.
Unlike the Dodgers, Houston is still in the race for the World Series championship.
They are continually praised for their phenomenal lineup, which may be the very best in Major League Baseball.
Others focus on their incredible rotation, boasting two bonafide Cy Young candidates in Justin Verlander and Framber Valdez.
But few people give Houston’s bullpen the credit it deserves.
We are talking about an elite unit that has only allowed two meager runs in the postseason.

It’s easy to see why the Astros are unbeaten in the playoffs at the moment.
Whenever they get a lead, their bullpen makes it impossible to come back into the game.
It’s a nasty unit.
A Truly Dominant Unit
In that graph, you can see how dominant the group is: only Hector Neris and Rafael Montero have allowed runs.
Ryne Stanek, Ryan Pressly, Bryan Abreu, Garcia and Brown have been flawless so far.
The Astros even have Will Smith, the closer of the 2021 Atlanta Braves team that won the title on the roster, but have barely used him.
That probably tells you all you need to know about their relief corps: they are deep, they are nasty, and they get strikeouts by the bunch.
It may be the best bullpen in baseball, too.
As the Astros prepare to face the Philadelphia Phillies in the Fall Classic, they have the bullpen advantage and have the better lineup.
The Phillies have taken down favorites before, but they may be in for their biggest challenge yet.
