The Los Angeles Angels have long been one of the most scrutinized teams in MLB.
Mostly because they have two of the best players in baseball on their team and still cannot make the playoffs.
Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani are too good to consistently be on a team that does not compete.
Yet, this season it appears that the Angels are off to a decent start.
They have a record of 20-18, but who they have beat is the most interesting thing.
According to Sam Blum, the Angels are 6-13 against teams above .500 and 14-5 against teams below .500.
The Angels are 20-18. Here’s a breakdown of that record.

This is certainly a cause for concern for Angels fans because they will not be facing terrible teams all year.
But, at least they are taking care of business against the teams they should beat.
The AL West has turned into one of the toughest divisions in the MLB this season.
Not only are the defending champion Houston Astros in the division, but so are the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers.
Texas is one of the surprise teams in the league thus far as they sit in first place with a 22-14 record.
The Angels will have their work cut out for them if they want to be a playoff team this year.
Most importantly they need to stay healthy.
Also, they need to find a way to have success against some of the top teams in the league.
MLB fans want to see Ohtani and Trout in the playoffs.
But, it is not going to be easy for them to get there.
