The Houston Texans struck gold in the 2023 NFL Draft when they selected C.J. Stroud No. 2 overall.
There were debates about who the best quarterback prospect was between Bryce Young and Stroud, but the latter has shut down any sort of conversation as he’s the favorite to win the NFL Rookie of the Year award.
Stroud looks way ahead of schedule in his development as he’s got the Texans in the thick of the AFC playoff race at this juncture of the 2023 NFL season.
However, Stroud hasn’t had to do everything alone as he’s got a dynamic wide receiver duo in Nico Collins and Tank Dell.
Dell, like Stroud, is a rookie and has been one of the most productive wideouts in his class.
However, Houston and its fans are holding their breath as Dell was carted off the field in the first quarter against the Denver Broncos via Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Texans’ WR Tank Dell was carted off after his left leg was rolled up on.

Dell was blocking on the play that led to a Dameon Pierce touchdown, but he got rolled up on the ground in a pile of Broncos defenders and looked to hurt his ankle.
The medical cart arrived on the field and signaled that the ankle injury was serious.
Although Dell was listed as questionable to return, it was clear that the talented receiver would be unable to come back into the game.
As of now, fans will have to wait and see what the diagnosis is for Dell but they and the team should probably start bracing for the possibility that he’ll have to miss time.
