After getting hot in early November, the Houston Texans have cooled off lately, losing two of their last four games.
With rookie phenom quarterback C.J. Stroud in concussion protocol, Case Keenum started for them on Sunday versus the Tennessee Titans, and despite a subpar performance from Keenum, they were able to prevail in overtime.
The race for first place in the AFC South is hot, as the Texans are tied with the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars with an 8-6 record.
Adam Schefter reported on Monday that Houston is signing defensive tackle Teair Tart, who until recently was a member of the Titans.
Houston Texans claimed former Titans’ starting defensive tackle Teair Tart on waivers.

Tart went undrafted in 2020 and has thus far played his entire NFL career with Tennessee.
In 45 career games (36 starts), he has 2.5 sacks, 16 tackles for loss, 14 quarterback hits, and seven tackles for loss.
He was released by the Titans just two days ago, and he will be joining a Texans team that is just 26th in rushing touchdowns allowed this season.
The Texans have some injury issues right now, especially on offense, where, in addition to Stroud being in concussion protocol, stud wide receiver Nico Collins is out with a calf injury.
On defense, starting linebacker Blake Cashman and starting defensive end Will Anderson Jr. didn’t play on Sunday because of an injured hamstring and ankle, respectively.
On Christmas Eve, Houston will host the 9-5 Cleveland Browns, who continue to find ways to grind out wins, and they will conclude the regular season by visiting the Colts, who have won five of their last six games.
