While Terry McLaurin had tough contract talks with the Washington Commanders, he’s still shown he’s a perfect face for them.
With the team going through scandals and quarterbacks each year, McLaurin gives them a player with stability and no scandals.
However, that’s not all that makes him a perfect face for the Commanders’ franchise.
The 26-year-old wide receiver has many positives for Commanders fans when looking for a face for their franchise.
So what makes him the perfect fit for the face of the franchise?
McLaurin Wants To Be In Washington And Help Put Them Back On Top
Washington needs a face of their franchise that wants to be in Washington.
With McLaurin, he wants to be with the Commanders.
However, some thought he only was looking for money when he held out during OTAs.
But that is far from the truth with him.
Not only does he want to be in Washington, but he also wants to be a part of getting them back on top.
Terry McLaurin: I feel like we have an unselfish group of guys in the locker room and they want to see Washington back on top. I want to be a part of that @DCNewsNow

For him to be a part of that, he needs to work with his new quarterback, Carson Wentz.
However, he’s already developing chemistry with Wentz, giving the Commanders hope this season.
Even During Contract Talks, McLaurin And Wentz Were In Touch With Each Other
Some players, when in contract talks, separate from their teammates.
Not Terry, as he and the Commanders’ starting quarterback were in touch during his contract talks with Washington.
McLaurin said Wentz "during the process he reached out to me. That's why I can't wait to get out there and start throwing with him… I'm really excited to see what he does."

While it was Wentz that reached out to McLaurin first, he was happy to talk with him, and excited to play with him on the field.
With him getting back to work and training with Wentz, it gives the team someone who has a good work ethic.
However, that ethic got lost when he desired a contract that paid him what he’s worth as a receiver.
But now that the ink is dry on his new contract, he’s ready to work with Wentz and get back on the field.
Terry McLaurin is leaving Ashburn later this morning to fly to California for a workout session with CArson Wentz and a few other teammates.

He can now focus on his work ethic to show why he’s a perfect face for the Washington franchise.
Ready To Turn His Weaknesses Into Strengths
Making improvements is part of the NFL every game and every season.
However, McLaurin takes making improvements to a new level.
Not only is he seeking to make improvements, but he wants to turn his weaknesses into strengths.
McLaurin: "My career got on an upward trajectory when I started to try to turn my weaknesses into strengths…As soon as you get complacent that's when things start to go downhill"
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) July 6, 2022
He knows being complacent causes players’ careers to go downhill.
With him doing all these things, he’s giving the Commanders franchise, and their fans, every reason to make him the face in Washington.
His work ethic is on-par with some NFL greats, like Tom Brady and Jerry Rice.
While some players only work on what they are good at, McLaurin is working on what he’s worst at.
By doing this, he’s turning himself into a player that Washington can depend on.
So even though he missed OTAs because of contract talks, he has plenty of reasons to be the face of the franchise in Washington.
