The Dallas Mavericks could find themselves in a bit of a conundrum in the near future.
Luka Doncic didn’t look happy at the end of this season, and there have been multiple rumors and rumblings about him eventually wanting to leave the organization.
While none of that has been confirmed, and Doncic and Mark Cuban have repeatedly raved about the prospect of a future together, we’ve seen these things happen many times in the NBA.
Should that be the case, the Utah Jazz could be a team to look out for, according to The Athletic’s John Hollinger, via Legion Hoops.
REPORT: “Utah in particular is keeping a very interested eye on [Luka Doncic’s] situation.”

Hollinger points out that the Jazz have the combination of draft capital and young players to outbid most teams looking to pursue a star such as Doncic.
Of course, this is all hypothetical.
Doncic might not force his way out of the team, and even if he does, it may not happen now, when Danny Ainge is still in control of so many assets.
Moreover, Doncic seems like the kind of player who’d love to play in a big market.
No disrespect to Salt Lake City whatsoever, but it’s hard to envision him choosing to go there over Dallas.
The Mavs went to great lengths to give Doncic a star to play with by trading for Kyrie Irving.
Obviously, the early returns weren’t good, but it’s evident that they’re willing to go the extra mile to keep their generational player happy, and it would take a historic haul of assets for them to part ways with Doncic, at least for now.
