The Miami Dolphins entered the season with Super Bowl aspirations.
Even if some had doubts about Tua Tagovialoa, this team looked good enough to make a run at the big game.
However, Tua getting hurt changed everything.
If anything, it proved just how crucial he was to this team’s success.
That’s why, all things considered, it’s easy to understand why they are 6-7 after 13 games.
Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean Mike McDaniel’s job is safe.
According to a report by ESPN (via The New York Post), the Dolphins’ head coach could still be on his way out if they don’t finish the season strong:
“League sources wondered about Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel’s job security should his team finish the season ‘badly,'” ESPN reported.
Of course, this would be a bit of a surprise.
With McDaniel at the helm, the Dolphins have had some of the best seasons in their recent history, constantly ranking among the best offenses in the league.
Then again, with their failure to win a playoff game, some believe that it’s just a matter of time before pressure starts mounting for him.
If the Dolphins were to part ways with McDaniel, he would immediately become one of the most sought-after candidates for offensive coordinator vacancies.
Likewise, the Dolphins would be a highly-coveted destination for prime head coaching candidates, given their current roster.
