Phoenix Suns fans hoping to see Devin Booker in Friday night’s preseason game against the Detroit Pistons were disappointed because the guard sat out.
He was dealing with an ankle injury, but head coach Mike Budenholzer said it is nothing to be too worried about.
According to Gerald Bourguet of PHNX Sports, Budenholzer said, “It’s the preseason. There’s no reason to push just generally him, his ankle, and I think he’s gonna be fine.”
That is undeniably good news, although some Suns fans might not believe it.

Booker was a part of the team’s lineup for other preseason games but he didn’t suit up for Friday’s match against the Pistons, although the team says it was just a precaution.
He is still positioned to start with the team when the regular season tips off in two weeks.
Injuries are nothing new for the Suns and they have often completely derailed an entire season, so you can understand why some people would be frightened by this one, no matter how minor it is.
The team is already dealing with a finger injury to big man Jusuf Nurkic, who also didn’t play on Friday night.
Hopefully, Nurkic, Booker and the rest of the team stay healthy, but there is a fear that this is just the beginning of injuries.
Booker averaged 27.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game last season and rightfully earned his latest All-Star appearance.
The Suns are desperate to have a good season and that means they need Booker healthy and ready to play all year long.
