The Golden State Warriors know a thing or two about how to beat the Boston Celtics.
It wasn’t that long ago that they got the best of them in the NBA Finals.
However, it seems like the Celtics haven’t forgotten about that loss, and it clearly still hurts.
That’s why Joe Mazzulla’s team made sure to mark this game on their calendars and took it with a postseason approach, as they never took their foot off the gas en route to a 52-point win.
Notably, coach Kerr had Draymond Green sagging off Jaylen Brown and not even trying to guard him beyond the three-point line, and Brown finished the game with 29 points in 22 minutes.
Clearly, that strategy didn’t work, but Steve Kerr was far from bothered.
Talking to the media after the game, Kerr pretty much claimed that it’s the same to lose by 52 than to lose by 1, so the team should just put it behind them and flush it (via Anthony Slater).
Here’s Steve Kerr postgame after the 52-point loss in Boston. He said it didn’t concern him, “flush it”, and discusses the decision to have Draymond Green sag off Jaylen Brown.

As for how he guarded Brown, he claimed that his team is always trying new stuff.
Some work, some don’t.
That’s one way to look at things, and it’s obvious that you can’t let one loss derail your entire season.
Then again, it’s not every day that you get blown out by 52 points, so even if they don’t want to admit it in public, they’ll definitely take a long look at the tape to see what went wrong.
