Stephen Curry just had a wonderful time in Paris and earned his first Olympic gold medal.
He is coming back home as a hero once again and has some time to relax before the 2024-25 NBA season kicks off.
Curry needs his R&R but also needs to think about his future with the Golden State Warriors because, according to Anthony Slater, Curry is eligible for a one-year, $62.6 million contract extension from his team.
Curry has said he wants to retire with the Warriors, and the team obviously wishes to keep him on board, so is this extension a foregone conclusion?

According to Slater, Curry wants to take some time off before he dives into any sort of contract negotiations with Golden State’s front office.
He has two seasons remaining on a four-year, $215 million deal he signed back in 2021.
Curry is worth every cent of a $62.6 million extension, and the Warriors will likely bend over backwards to give him everything they can.
They wish to see Curry play his entire career with Golden State and also know he’s still the team’s most valuable player.
The real question is what they will do to improve the roster around Curry.
How can they enhance the team’s chances of returning to the playoffs and giving Curry at least one more NBA championship before he retires?
They didn’t make massive moves this offseason but have slightly improved compared to last year.
With Curry wanting to rest before he works out a new extension, the Warriors also have time to figure out their next steps after they offer him a deal.
