The Golden State Warriors have been the team to beat in the league for the past decade.
They’ve won four NBA championships in six trips to the NBA Finals, with the latest coming just two years ago.
Nonetheless, it seems like the end of their dynasty could be near, and they might know it.
At least, that’s what Stephen A. Smith thinks after hearing Klay Thompson on “The Draymond Green Show.”
Talking on “First Take,” the controversial pundit stated that Thompson sounded like a guy who’s at the point in his career in which he’s paying homage and having open-heart conversations with and about his teammates because he knows he might not be there for much longer.

Thompson talked about potentially walking away in free agency, and as much as he would obviously love to stay in the Bay Area, he knows that might not be the case.
Smith stated that, knowing as many NBA owners as he knows, he believes the Warriors have reached a point in which they know that Thompson is the odd man out.
They would clearly want to keep him around, but if the money isn’t right, they might think that they can make the Play-In Tournament and spend less money.
Thompson has been one of the pillars of the dynasty, and denying his impact and contributions would be petty and uncalled for.
Then again, this is a business first and foremost, and as tough as this decision might be for the front office, it could also be the right one.
