Will Lonzo Ball ever play for the Chicago Bulls again?
More importantly, will he ever play for any team again?
That is the question that many fans have been asking lately, as Ball’s slow return to the court has gotten even slower.
His knee injury has perplexed doctors and experts and he is now about to sit out of the 2023-24 season.
Stephen A. Smith has heard that the injury is even worse than Ball and the Bulls have said.
“I’ve heard that it’s even hard for him to get up from the sitting position,” Smith said, according to NBACentral.

If this is the truth then Ball is in very bad shape and the future of his career really is in jeopardy.
Ball was on his way to being a staple of the Bulls back in 2021 when he signed a four-year, $80 million contract.
But he only ended up playing for 35 games in the 2021-22 season before an injury prevented him from continuing.
He hasn’t played an NBA game since.
Despite multiple surgeries and numerous expert opinions, Ball has yet to be healed and now the Bulls are facing another season without him.
When he was playing with the team, they were one of the best in the East.
Since then, they have fallen like a rock and ended last season with a 40-42 record.
Their decline has been caused by more than just Ball’s absence but a lack of him on the floor has certainly hurt.
If Smith has heard correctly and Ball is having trouble sitting up then he is a very long way from being on the basketball court again.
That means the Bulls might be without him for years.
