On Sunday, Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant’s career took a turn for the worst yet again, as he flashed a gun in a social media post.
As a result of another costly off-the-court choice by Morant, the Grizzlies guard has been suspended by the team and could end up facing a lengthy suspension by the league for his actions.
In reaction to another off-the-floor mishap by the rising star, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith made a bold statement about Morant, Zion Williamson, and R.J. Barrett, which is bound to receive some criticism.
Stephen A. Smith:
“Between Zion Williamson’s body and Ja Morant’s stupidity, RJ Barrett might end up being the best pick.”

Williamson hasn’t been able to be available on a consistent basis for the New Orleans Pelicans due to injuries while Morant’s decisions off the floor may ultimately cost him a promising career.
As for Barrett, the New York Knicks forward has played well since the team drafted him No. 3 overall behind Williamson and Morant in the 2019 NBA Draft.
It’s interesting to hear Smith say this about Barrett, as he recently bashed the former Duke star for his performance in the second round of the NBA playoffs against the Miami Heat, in which his team lost in six games.
Barrett struggled throughout the series as he adjusts to being the third option behind Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson in New York.
However, with how things are going for Williamson and Morant, Smith may ultimately be correct, as Barrett may last longer in the league.
Williamson can’t stay healthy, while Morant’s off-the-floor issues may be his undoing, as he can’t seem to keep from making avoidable mistakes.
