The New England Patriots are slated to look a lot different in 2025 than they did in 2023.
The front office and coaching staff have made a concerted effort to add several players to give them a better chance of competing, making moves on both sides of the ball.
One of the most impactful moves they made was acquiring Stefon Diggs at wide receiver, giving Drake Maye a veteran option in the passing game to hopefully bring his career to the next level.
Early reports out of camp have indicated that these two have developed strong chemistry, which could translate to big things when they get into real game situations.
Before that happens, however, Diggs needs to be fully healthy.
He’s struggled with injuries over the past few seasons, and he recently sat down with reporter Dianna Russini to talk about where things are at with less than a month to go until Week 1.
“I feel great. I’m pushing the needle always. I’m always doing more than less. We’ll see about Week 1. I don’t know how I feel about it. Coaches aren’t too excited. I’m not too excited. I’m just trying to take it day by day. It looks like we just don’t know where it’s going to go. We’ll see what happens,” Diggs said.

Diggs did indicate that he feels “great,” but mentioned that Week 1 is up in the air.
He seemed frustrated that there’s even a question about whether or not he’ll be ready to go, as he’s a fierce competitor who wants to play whenever possible.
Fans will wait and see if there are further developments about this situation in the coming weeks, and if Diggs will ultimately miss any time.
Maye showed some promise during his rookie season, and Diggs should help him harness his potential whenever he can join him on the gridiron.
