The Pittsburgh Steelers finished the 2022 NFL Season with a 9-8 record.
While they may have been over .500, in a crowded AFC, they weren’t able to secure a playoff spot.
This organization has achieved great success, historically, which they are eager to get back to in 2023.
George Pickens, a second-round pick from 2022, recently made a few bold claims about himself.
If these claims come to fruition, it would likely propel the Steelers forward, giving them a great chance at a playoff berth.
Pickens recently had a conversation with the Ringer’s Kevin Clark, where he shared, “I feel like I’m the best in the whole world” via PFF.

He didn’t stop there, saying, “If you want a receiver, you create a player,” later indicating, “That’s me.”
Pickens was a highly-debated player during the pre-draft process.
While his on-field performances in college were undeniable, there were significant concerns with Pickens’ off-field extracurriculars.
Pickens didn’t have any news-worthy off-field issues during his rookie campaign, where he put up 52 receptions, 801 yards, and four touchdowns.
However, Pickens wasn’t necessarily able to establish great chemistry with the team’s quarterbacks, given they had two starters throughout the year.
Kenny Pickett is slated to take over as the full-time starter, and he and Pickens have worked hard throughout the offseason to continuously develop rapport.
With any luck, their connection will take off, and Pickens will be able to tap into the potential that he believes is the best in the league.
Will both players take the step forward that many are expecting of them?
